Danny smiled a little at Nicole, walking over to the dining room with his grandma and father. They both knew the meal Carla made tonight and they did like it, too.
Hearing that comment, Carla smiled a little, setting the casserole down on the table mat. "I surely hope so." she said to Nicole, while she started to devide the Pastelón and filled each plate.

Nicole smiled a little as she watched the meal get passed around. As she did, Nicole looked over to Danny and winked at him while sitting there, before taking the bowl that was passed to her. Nicole put some of what was in the bowl onto her plate, then passed it along.

Not long after dinner, Carla was back in the kitchen, putting the dishes into the dishwasher, before it would be time to head to bed.
Harry had already left the small group and was in the room he occupied for the time he was staying here.

Danny was leaning against the kitchen counter, just about to finish his last bottle of beer. He was actually tired from the long flight to Nashville and the events of the day and it was actually more obvious on his face than he thought it was. Right now, he was looking at the bottle in his hand and letting his thoughts drift off.

Nicole helped Carla clean up after the meal, making sure to tell her that she enjoyed what she had made. While helping, Nicole glanced over to Danny and smiled a bit before looking back to Carla as she continued to help her. It was clear that Nicole was wanting to make a good impression with Danny's family.

Carla glanced over to her grandson and smiled. She knew that look on his face very well, having known him since he was a little boy. The elderly woman then looked at Nicole and smiled a little.
"Someone's got a long day." she said to Nicole, a loving tone in her voice.

Danny didn't even notice them talking, he was somewhere else in his mind and not really paying attention anyway. It was one of the signs that he felt safe and comfortable.

Nicole nodded a bit when Carla said that to her. "That he does" she said gently while helping the older woman she was standing with. She noticed the loving tone in Carla's voice and smiled a little. "I hope to give you a great grandchild some time." she said to Carla in an off the cuff tone, not noticing that Danny was lost in his thoughts at this time.

Carla looked up and smiled at Nicole. She actually really liked her. She was so different from his ex-fiancée, so much more lively and loveable. It was nice to see that her beloved grandson had found someone like her to be with.
"And I'm sure you will." Carla said knowingly. "He's really found a perfect match for him. He's never been like that with Anna."

Nicole smiled when Carla said that to her. She knew that she wasn't anything like Anna. From what she knew, Anna wasn't as out going as she was. An outgoing person was something that Danny needed and Nicole was glad she helped him in that area. After finishing with the dishes, she walked over to Danny and stood next to him.

Carla smiled a little, closing the dishwasher, after everything was put into that could be put into it. Then she went and wiped the table in the dining room, leaving the two of them alone in the kitchen for a while.

Danny snapped out of his thoughts, when he noticed Nicole standing next to him and smiled a little at her. He was happy that she was here with him and that she got along so well with her family. He didn't say anything to her for now, not having heard the conversation she had with his grandma.

Nicole watched Danny as he looked at her. "You good?" she asked softly. She had a feeling something was Danny's mind as she watched him. Nicole gently took Danny's hand in her's, interlocking her fingers with her's. Nicole kept her eyes on Danny as she did that, waiting for him to speak up.

Danny smiled a little and nodded in reply. He was fine, just tired and he actually began to notice that himself. Not that he got tired that easily, but traveling was different. And they did have a long flight behind them.
"Yeah." he replied quietly. "Just zoomed out there for a moment."

He took the last sip from his beer and then looked at Nicole again. He would have a good night's sleep, he knew it. It was almost always like that when he came here.

Nicole nodded in reply when Danny said that to her, then smiled a bit and kissed him. "I'm glad you came out of it mate." she said to him in a gentle tone while standing there with him. The smile was still on her face as he said that to him.

"Well... I'll try not to do that too often." Danny smiled at Nicole, taking a moment to really enjoy her company. He felt a lot more content with her around and that was something he's actually never felt like that before. But it was nice to finally know that feeling this well. However, when he walked over to the case to put his empty bottle away, he couldn't suppress the yawn.

"But I think someone's ready to call it a night." he said, when he turned around to Nicole again.

Nicole nodded in reply, seeing Danny yawn as she stood there with him. "Okay, sleep well Danny" she said before kissing him and going back to the room she would be sleeping in. Once there, Nicole closed the door and went to shower and change. After doing so, Nicole sat on the bed and started to read.

Danny watched her leave, being taken by surprise in that moment. Not how I wanted this night to end... he thought, while he just stood there for a moment, making a somewhat sad face. Just then his grandma walked back into the room, seeing him like that. She chuckled a little.
"What's so funny, nana?" he asked her, confused.
"Just the look on your face, nieto." she replied with a smile. "Go... maybe she'll let you in."

Danny shook his head, said his good night to Carla and then went upstairs. He stopped in front of the doors, just staring at the one he knew Nicole was sleeping behind, wondering if he should knock. Sure, he wished she'd stayed with him, but he wouldn't push the matter. With a small sigh, he went into his room, undressed and put on an old shirt and boxers for the night, then slipped under the blanket.

Nicole soon finished reading for the night and set the book on the small night stand that was next to her. After shutting the light off, Nicole laid down and closed her eyes, not knowing how Danny felt at the moment. Nicole was soon asleep in her blue mesh shorts and a grey Royal Australian Army shirt. While sleeping, she dreamed of her and Danny.

Danny was awake for a couple more minutes, but not long after he climbed into bed, he was fast asleep. But he was thinking about Nicole before his eyes closed and he drifted off to sleep.

The next day had an early start. Danny was up first in the morning, way before anyone else was. He took a quick shower and got dressed in casual clothing for now, before he went downstairs and started preparing breakfast.
He was soon joined by his grandma, who helped him, when she got there. The two of them were talking to each other in Spanish, catching up on everything that happened since they last spoke on the phone.

Nicole was up a few moments later, the sounds and smells from the kitchen coming to her. Nicole smiled a little, then walked over to the bathroom and got a drink of water. After doing so, she walked down stairs after putting on her light weigh lounge pants, hearing Danny and Carla talk in Spanish as she walked in. Once in the room, she walked over to Danny and wrapped her arms around him.

Danny heard her come down the stairs, even with the sounds in the kitchen and talking to his grandmother. He knew this house like nobody else, having spent a lot of time here as a kid. However, he acted like he didn't hear her and jumped a little, feeling her wrap her arms around him. But then he smiled a little, turning around in her arms and putting his around her.
"Buenos días, bonita." he said to Nicole, looking into her eyes.

Nicole didn't know what Danny told her, but hearing the tone of his voice, she knew it was something sweet. "Good morning my charming bloke." she said to him in reply, a smile on her face as she said that to him. "The bed in the guest room is ace." she added while holding on to him. It was clear that Nicole had a decent sleep last night.

Danny smiled a little at Nicole, then leaned in, kissing her cheek before he whispered in her ear. "Mmm... you'll have to show me some time."
He pulled back and looked at her, a playful spark in his brown eyes. He was partly serious and partly teasing her, letting her decide what she wanted to do. He was used to sleeping alone and her being hesitant to join him. It was up to her.

"Tea or coffee?" he then asked.

Nicole smiled a bit when Danny said that to her. "How did I know you would say that?" she asked while standing up and watching him. "Tea would be ace" Nicole said to him while brushing her hair back as she said that. She then looked at Carla and said good morning to her, nodding a bit at the same time as she spoke to her.

"Hmm... maybe because you know me way too well." Danny stated. "Or because you had the same thought."
Danny gave her a playful smile, before he turned around and got a cup of tea for Nicole. Well, he got the cup and boiled some water, but he would let her choose the tea for herself. He opened the cupboard and revealed a small collection of different tea. "Choose the one you like."

Carla gave Nicole a warm smile and good morning, watching them interact, then got back to finishing their breakfast.

Nicole nodded, then looked at the teas that were laid out. "I'll take the green tea." she said to him in reply while looking up a she said that. Nicole wasn't much of a coffee drinker, not that she didn't like it, it was just never in her house while growing up. Nicole first had tea when she was 17 and was hooked from the first sip.

Danny nodded a little to her, getting a bag of green tea out of the box and put it into the cup he got for Nicole. Then he turned around to her again, waiting for the water to boil. That would take a little while. Danny himself was actually drinking a glass of orange juice right now, but he would have coffee with his breakfast. Since he couldn't have coffee on an empty stomach, he always had something else first.

He was a little surprised though, that he didn't get a reply to his first remark, but he kept that to himself for now. It was nothing he would worry about, besides he had different things on his mind right now, because he began thinking about the wake that was today and his grandfather. Danny sighed a little, thinking about him. He would go for a quick ride before the event started, just to clear his head.
